It is the BEST DAMN QUIZ in Brighton - not my words!
The typical Big Quiz is a pub quiz, or team building, or private quiz hosted by myself either in a pub, or somewhere similar, a place of work, an office or your own private residence.
Each Quiz Night is made up of the following elements: Four Question Rounds; a Film Round; a Music Round and a Picture Round.
Each quiz usually takes around 1.5 - 2 hours, depending on numbers and other factors.
No microphone, or other audio equipment is required, though I have hosted quizzes with both microphone and with an amplified ukulele - but in my opinion, these are rarely needed!
Round 1 - CURRENT AFFAIRS - Ten questions that have been in the headline news from the past week.
Round 2 - FILM ROUND - I impeccably act out ten usually very famous, or at least slightly well-known film quotes and you have to a) name the movie and b) either the actor, or the year the film came out, or the decade. Often I also give out clues to each film and there is usually a theme, for example - RomComs, or scary movies.
Round 3 - RANDOM ROUND #1 - Ten questions on the first weekly specialised subject.
Round 4 - MUSIC ROUND - I play and sing snippets, or a verse, or similar from 10 different songs. Each week each song usually will begin with a certain letter and you have to name both the name of the song and the artist for a point each. I never sing the song title during this round!
Round 5 - RANDOM ROUND #2 - Ten questions on the second weekly specialised subject.
Round 6 - Picture Round - Each weekly picture round is usually worth 20 points and varies from Lego Album Covers, to Flags, to Zoomed In Pictures, to Dingbats, to...
Round 7 - POT LUCK - Ten questions taken from all 7 of the possible random rounds, but usually omitting the weekly choosen two.
The rounds are delivered and then marked in pairs, with a short 5 minute interval inbetween. There is often a Raffle Round as well, with a roll-over jackpot prize.
